As (regrettably) an ad guy trying to cope with the ever-expanding chaos that is the WWWorld, I can use as much help as I can get. If it helps my clients, it helps me. So this nifty online reputation monitoring software, BrandsEye, can help put habit47 aboard his eco-friendly jetyachtsubhub sooner and developing clean, safe energy systems before he becomes too rickety.
Even if it's not 100% relevant to you, it's still pretty damn interesting. Wonder how long before personal reputation monitoring software becomes a Facebook app?
Feeling, like I'm turning AlphaGeek and I don't care who knows it,

you get the idea. But in case you still haven't:
Feeling, like I'm wondering whether ads should lock onto pop culture or lead it,
My Adman's Portfolio blog is in a poor state.
So, rather than send you there, I'll show you what's tickling my funny and (s)ad bones.
This is awesome:
This is not:
Here's a little behind the scenes action.
I'd love to load some off-camera shots, but for some reason VOX is acting up today.
In the meantime, you can sit back and enjoy this:
I'll try again later.
There you have it. My honest, and most humble, opinion.
Feeling, bipolar,
It might just make them buy.
1. This ad is doing the rounds = viral power
2. This ad makes people smile = so does chocolate
3. This ad is an ad AND entertainment = courageous client, talented suit, happy creatives
4. This ad was a talking point at a party I went to = it's got people's attention
5. This ad has spawned parodies = people are getting involved:
I have a sneaky feeling the rest of this campaign is going to do some SILLY tricks...and snatch a fistful of awards.
Feeling, liberated by brave new ideas,
This spot for Epuron was nudged off the Grand Prix at the Cannes Ad Festival this year:
The winning spot, for Dove, looked like this:
Now, in my honest opinion, only the judges know why this happened.
Sure, the Dove spot made for a very powerful viral. I know because I saw it months ago
and it got sent to me about a dozen times that day.
But the ad for the wind was really touching - it was really more of a beautiful short film
than an ad. Both spots are worth watching again and again and I doubt you haven't already replayed both already. Still, that wind spot just blew me away (and I hate the wind) so I broke one of my rules and posted what should have been a Namebadge blog here. Don't say I never share anything with you.
Feeling, inarticulate,
P.S. It might be worthy to note that 'The Wind' has racked up some impressive stats on Technorati.
